This 2021 summer looks more promising than last year: we’re beating, with the effort and responsibility of everyone, this pandemic. But this battle is nothing further from being entirely won and the measures to take care all citizens health are still on. This is still being reflected for example in many open-air events and music festivals that are cancelling or not organizing this years’ edition, like in Huercasa Country Festival or Salardú Country Rock Festival.
It wasn’t an easy decision to take: we’re craving for this kind of music events to enjoy our summer nights. Furthermore, if you’re waiting to make your social comeback in a country and line dance festival, and look your best to have an unforgettable experience, probably is what we need most of all. Maybe the only comfort for us is thinking how we celebrate our attendance next year.
Huercasa’s causes: above all, keep safe
This music festival is entirely organized and sponsored by Huercasa, a Spanish company dedicated to the production of plant-based foods, and with a strong commitment with the health of their employees and customers.
Concerning about the health safety of Huercasa’s festival, we must add the existing restrictions in Spain and a potential limitation on international travels for many bands. All of that contributed to stop this 2021 Huercasa Country Festival edition, having to wait a little more to enjoy again of this great event. Big names in the national and international country music scene will delight us again into a unique family environment, where for example barbeques and children’s activities and games are a must.
Salardú Country Rock Festival: protect the local population
The festival organization, along with the council of Naut Aran, have decided to cancel this huge audience event, gathering in their last edition, back in 2019, more than 6000 attenders by the end of August.
Again, the COVID-19 pandemic and avoid a high risk of infection among the locals and visitors are strong reasons to finally decide this painful cancellation of a festival that involve an important economic boost in the region.
At least, we have a confirmed date for 2022 edition: from August 24th to 27th.
Hopefully we will, at last, enjoy this country dance party!
CMA Fest is delayed until 2022
Neither was an easy decision for the organization to delay the CMA Fest, the flagship country festival in the United States and probably worldwide, celebrated in Nashville. But for that to happen, and create a complete CMA Fest experience, they have to deal with the challenging effort to overcome the last battle that this pandemic is giving to all of us.
However, CMA Fest is fully optimistic and planning an epic future event in 2022, from June 9th to 12th. Sometimes, good things are worth waiting.
Voghera Country Festival celebrates ‘The Weekend Edition’
The next June 25th, 26th and 27th of 2021, this long-running festival organized in the Italian town of Voghera, very close to Milano will celebrate its first ‘The Weekend Edition’. We should take into account that some COVID-19 related sanitary restrictions will be applied, so this year’s Voghera Country Festival will follow the mandatory rules in Italy to control the pandemic.
In their 2021 summer ‘The Weekend Edition’ artists and bands such as The Lucky Star Country Band, Legends Corner Band, Elise Katrine Jane, Half Blood, Beer O’Clock, Dobro Country or Rock Band will join this amazing line-up.
Like every year, the best Italian and foreign DJs will join the party. And of course, the best choreographers and line dancers will organize their own workshops to help you to initiate and improve your country steps.
The 2021 Picnic Country & Folk festival
Located in Poland, on the 23th and 24 of June will take place the 40th Picnic Country and Folk Mrągowo 2021 International Fest. This time the event will be organized in the Mrągowo Amphitheatre, near Czos lake. The tickets are now on sale and the festival will count with almost all the best Polish country music artists, beside of other events to liven up this double day celebration.
Alicja Boncol, Karolina Jastrzębska, Klaudia Majkowska, Lonstar, Tomasz Szwed, Babsztyl, Mariusz Kalaga, Czarek Makiewicz, Wojciech Dudkowski, Michał Milowicz, Jan Manson, Gang Marcela and Colorado Band will join the line-up, being supported by Caramelka, a Czech country dance company.
Good Old Days: The Country / Vintage & Rock’n Roll Festival
On September 17th, 18th and 19th of 2021, inside the Belle Isle exhibition centre in the French Loira Valley will take place again this biennial event celebrated since 2007.
This is a “must-attend” event for all country, rock & roll and western lovers, enjoying and listening some country vintage artists like Apple Jack, Dom Daleegaw and Fast Train in the heart of this garden called Belle Isle.
As the main acts, all atendees will enjoy seven free gigs, within a special meeting of American sedan and muscle cars, trucks, custom motorbikes, trikes… And, of course, music and line dancing won’t stop! For example, you may join any of their Boogie Dance workshops and a lot of leisure activities such as a mechanic rodeo, an occidental camp with historically dressed part players, inflatable structures… The Good Old Days Festival also will gather a hundred different stands dedicated to clothing, accessories, catering or home decor.
It seems like everything is back on track, and this year, if you don’t want to wait anymore to travel again and live an open-air country festival, maybe this might be your summer.
