Some of the Far West most famous firearms

This is the curated selection of some of the Far West most famous firearms reproduced and handcrafted by Denix:

  • Colt Peacemaker: probably the most famous gun ever. This revolver became easily in one of the most popular and affordable handguns. It share the same munition than the Winchester 1873 rifle model, so law enforcement patrols and hunters only had to use a single type of bullet.
  • ‘John Wayne’ Winchester rifle: when you talk about fire power and reliability during the XIX century, everybody is going to mention this icon. Winchester Repeating Arms invented the first repeating action rifle and it’s commonly called as ‘the weapon that won the West’, as it was the main advantage of the Occidental colonizers.
  • Kentucky Long Rifle: doesn’t have an earned name like their two predecessors, but for many experts this rifle had a huge impact in the Western States. It was lighter than other carbines of the same age, and by this many people were able improve their shot accuracy, becoming one of the preferred hunting firearms and a must to survive in the frontiers.
  • Gatling gun: the first machine gun ever, developed during the American Civil War, was shot by the Union Army for the first time in 1864.

Behind every shot made by a firearm during the American Western conquest (and every replica created by Denix) there is a story to understand the foundation and the expansion of the USA. Hundreds of thousands participated in many different ways in this episode of North America’s history, a trace that is still visible nowadays in the American culture, which remnants are shown in special items like our Denix rifles and revolvers replicas.
